Now Accepting Applications for 2016-2017 Young Advocates Institute Advisory Council

MS Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MSCASA) welcome the opportunity to work directly with the youth in advocacy, prevention strategies, and support youth to give voice to their experiences with sexual violence directly or indirectly, while empowering other youth to live violence free lives. MSCASA is a non-profit victim service and advocacy organization working alongside sexual assault advocates and others to end violence in Mississippi. MSCASA is honored to join Raliance in its work to end sexual violence in one generation made possible by the National Football League.

MSCASA will coordinate the Young Advocates Institute South (YAIS) to contribute to the coordinated implementation of a comprehensive initiative to change the culture in one generation by aligning sexual violence services, prevention, messaging and policy goals or promising practices related to sexual violence. MSCASA will develop a 5-10 member Young Advocate Council (YAC) to lead and create prevention efforts and messaging, conduct YAIS outreach activities, and promote social change and leadership development.

Included is this overview of the Young Advocates Institute project, Frequently Asked Questions, and on-line Application. If interested in becoming a Young Advocate Council member, complete the online application available here by October 7, 2016. Only completed applications will be considered to participate as a council member. The selected council members will be notified by October 14, 2016.
