Jackson, MS – The NSVRC offers the Visionary Voice Award, in conjunction with Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) each April, to recognize the creativity and hard work of individuals around the country who have demonstrated outstanding work to end sexual violence.

Each year, state, territory, and tribal coalitions select an outstanding individual to nominate for the awards. Nominees may be partners from a local community or other outstanding individuals that have worked to end sexual violence. This year, MSCASA nominated Eva Jones for her hard work in our community to end sexual violence.

EVA JONES

In the movement, Eva Jones, has been a servant leader for most of her adult life.  She began in her church organizing health fairs, women empowerment sessions, teen summits, and domestic abuse conferences that focused on raising awareness and ending dating and sexual assault violence in the Metro Jackson community.  After raising her three sons, Eva returned to college as an adult learner and earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Mississippi College to enhance her knowledge so she could help women, men, and children who are victims and survivors of abuse and violence.

Eva continues her education today as a graduate student working towards her Masters in Marriage and family Counseling which she plans to help heal and restore broken families. Eva founded Butterflies by Grace Defined by Faith, an organization that strives to educate, empower, and advocate awareness to change the hearts of people and propose policy and legislation to protect victims and survivors of sexual assault, human trafficking, and domestic violence.

MSCASA would like to applaud EVA JONES for her exceptional contribution to end sexual violence in our community.
